Kayla and Ryan’s Charleston Engagement

I got a call from Kayla who found out about my photography through her friend Jamie whose wedding I shot a few years ago.  She and her fiance Ryan are having a fabulous island destination wedding but really wanted their engagement photos taken in Charleston.  With a crazy weekend of overcast weather and isolated thunderstorms, the short engagement session went really well as the sun started peeking out from behind all the clouds.  Usually it’s pretty rare that nasty weather sticks around Charleston for long which is a good thing to remember when planning any outdoor wedding or photoshoot.  Anyways, they wanted some classic Charleston charm in their images so we walked around downtown through the cobblestone streets and past the colonial homes.  Some of my favorite images were taken at the White Point Gardens park near the Battery.  Kayla and Ryan also wanted a few images near the marina so we finished the short photo session at the Lockwood Marina.  The weather was so nice today and being around the boats got my wakeboard hunger stirring.  Soon, very soon
